Qatar Airways has announced a major expansion of its Africa network, with resumed flights and increased frequencies set to begin from June 16, 2026. The airline said the move will improve regional connectivity, including a new three-weekly service to Port Sudan starting July 2.
The Doha-based carrier said it will restart four weekly flights to Seychelles and two weekly flights to Kigali from June 16, while daily flights to Marrakesh will resume from July 1. It will also increase service on several key routes, including Alexandria, Cairo, Cape Town, Dar es Salaam, the Lusaka-Harare route, and the Maputo-Durban route.
In a statement, Qatar Airways said the changes are aimed at boosting convenient travel options and strengthening links across Africa. The airline said passengers travelling to Port Sudan from markets in the Middle East and Southeast Asia, including Oman and Pakistan, will be able to connect through Hamad International Airport in Doha.
Qatar Airways said the expansion is part of its effort to rebuild its network to more than 160 destinations worldwide this summer. The airline also highlighted its recent industry awards and operational performance as it continues to position Doha as a major global transit hub.
